Today, the game developer company Mojang has become Microsoft’s newest gaming studio. Phil Spencer, head of Xbox at Microsoft, mentioned the closure of the acquisition via Twitter. The Redomnd, WA, company had announced the purchase in the month of September.
The Redmond, WA, company had announced the purchase in the month of September. Now that the acquisition is complete, the creator of the popular Minecraft game, Markis Perrson, has left the company, along with other founding members of Mojang.
With the $2.5 billion acquisition, Microsoft welcomes Mojang to its family of developers currently formed by 343 Industries (Halo), Turn 10 (Forza), and others.
