The PlayStation 3 was the first gaming console to offer Blu-Ray functionality in the past generation. However, Microsoft has stepped up in this new generation by announcing 3D Blu-ray movie playback for the Xbox One, as one of the many new features expected in the August system update.
The features the owners of the Xbox One will get into their console is essentially long and very important to attract new gamers in terms of console functionality.

- Activity feed update
- Expanded friends area on Home
- Mobile purchase
- Low battery notification
- Disable notifications during video
- Enabling 3D Blu-ray
- One Guide in Brazil, Mexico, Austria & Ireland
- Last seen time in Friends list
Sony’s PlayStation 4 console still does not offer 3D Blu-ray playback yet.
