A day after the announcement of the creation of Saban Films, Haim Saban mentioned today its first movie deal with Lionsgate for the development and production of a live-action movie about Saban’s Power Rangers. Since its arrival to America TV in 1993, the Power Rangers franchise, based on Toei’s Super Sentai series, has seen success.
The series is about a group of teenagers chosen to protect the world from evil by morphing into Rangers.
“Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level,” mentioned Mr. Saban. “They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from ‘The Hunger Games’ to ‘Twilight’ and ‘Divergent.’”
