Dong Nguyen, the creator of Flappy Bird, has removed the game from Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store today. Nguyen was true to his word when he announced yesterday he was going to withdraw the game. However, the title is still playable at its web site [http://www.flappybird.com/play/] on PCs and Android devices, though it’s hard to play it; the game is unplayable on browser like Safari and Chrome on iOS devices.
For people who will miss the game, there is a similar title with the same gameplay elements as in Flappy Bird. The game Squishy Bird [http://squishybird.com/] is available on its web site and it’s much easier to play than Flappy Bird, even on mobile devices. Like the title says, it consists of squishing the birds with the green pipes (that also look like the ones in a Super Mario Bros. game).
