“Pokémon: The Origin” (TV Anime Special): First Trailer

The first trailer of a new TV anime special surprised many fans at the Pokémon Game Show taking place this weekend in Japan.

The trailer of Pokémon: The Origin takes gamers back to the first generation of the Pokémon games by showing a look back of the game intro on a Game Boy followed by scenes of the anime when the main character receives a Charmander given to him by Professor Oak.

For people who have played the first Pokémon titles (Red and Blue; known as Red and Green in Japan), this is going to be the first time two games get an anime adaptation. Expect to see lots of familiar faces.

The anime special will air on TV Tokyo on October 2nd.
