At Otakon today, anime distributor Funimaiton announced it acquired the rights for digital and Blu-Ray distribution. Sunrise said in May via its producer Masayuki Ozaki at Anime Boston that his company had been in talks with Sentai Filmworks and Funimation about anime previously licensed to Bandai Entertainment. Last year, Bandai Entertainment decided to stop distribution of anime and manga in the US.
Among the list of anime now licensed by Funimation are:
- Escaflowne: The Movie & The Vision of Escaflown
- Fairy Tail (the rest of the episodes, up to 175)
- My-Hime
- My-Otome
- My-Otome 0~S.ifr~
- My-Otome Zwei
- Tales of the Abyss
- Witch Hunter Robin
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
- Code Geass: Akito the Exiled
- Angel Links
- Crest of the Stars
- Banner of the Stars
- Banner of the Stars II
- Passage of the Stars – Birth
- Wolf Children
Funimation will be releasing Cowboy Bebop in 2014, and Wolf Children in November 12 on Blu-Ray and DVD.
