[EN]: Sony did not bring any PlayStation 4 surprises to CES today, but it did display new products aimed at taking advantage of the upcoming 4K TV technology.

During tonight’s presentation, Sony focused on 4K and mentioned upcoming 55″ and 65″ 4K TV that will be available at a “more accessible price range” compared to its 84-inch display at $25,000. The 4K UHD (Ultra HD) format has doble the horizontal and vertical resolution of 1080p HDTV, and four times the amount of pixels.

The company will also offer the “world’s first consumer 4K video distribution serivce” starting this summer, offering native 4K videos thanks to Sony Pictures. Along with Sony, Disney will be bringing its movies to “4K mastered” 1080p Blu-Ray discs.

Though the entire presentation was going on smoothly, the demo of the world’s largest 4K OLED prototype failed, and ended up showing video of a computer that was booting up by displaying a MS-DOS options before a user was able to select which OS system to use. Windows was selected.

The Xperia Z is Sony’s upcoming smartphone featuring a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor,  a 5-inch display, a 13-megapixel camera, and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean mobile operating system.
