It’s red on the borders as is most of the Wiimote it comes with. The console itself is mostly matte black.
This red-and-black Wii model will be missing an important feature: Internet connectivity. And like last year’s model, it will not have GameCube compatibility.
On the Wii Mini section of the Nintendo site, it says: “The Wii mini console does not connect to the Internet and does not support online features in games compatible with Wii software and accessories. Internet connectivity features are not available. The Wii mini console is not compatible with Nintendo GameCube Game Discs or accessories.”
The Wii Mini is exclusive for Canada, and there is no mention of an SD card slot as an option to save progress in games.
People in Canada interested in pre-ordering a Wii Mini can do it so starting today. The Wii Mini will cost $99.99.
