It seems like EA is not going to give up on the NBA Jam franchise without a fight, or in this case, a slam dunk or two. EA has just announced the arrival of NBA Jam: On Fire Edition in October of this year, and it will include more features than before such as Real AI, Jam Arena and Road Trip. The original game, originally developed by Midway, made an impact in the arcades and on the consoles when it was first released. Watching many basketball players and celebrities do their dunks on a 2-on-2 game, plus listening to the entertaining voice of the commentator, made NBA Jam become an exciting game to play. By the way, EA stated its next NBA simulation, now being developed by Tiburon in Orlando, FL, will be released in 2012 due to the abrupt cancellation of NBA Elite 11 in November 2010.
Update: 2K Sports confirmed to Kotaku’s Owen Good it will release NBA 2k12 “regardless of lockout or work stoppage.”
