IBM’s “Smarter Planet” @ Epcot’s Innoventions

[29-Jan-2010] IBM has opened its new Smarter Planet experiential exhibit at INNOVENTIONS at Epcot in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The exhibit is powered by a Smarter Data Center, providing a real-life demonstration of optimized computing that reduces energy costs by up to 25 percent. The exhibit’s version of IBM’s Scalable Modular Data Center has been implemented by hundreds of IBM clients around the world. Visitors at IBM’s new Smarter Planet exhibit at INNOVENTIONS at Epcot play “Runtime,” a dynamic and customized video game experience developed by Walt Disney Imagineering. The unique game transforms guests into their own personalized avatars, who run, jump and dance through a timeline of IBM’s achievements in the history of computing. Guests can also email themselves the game, extending the “Runtime” experience. Available multimedia includes a video on the IBM Smarter Data Center and still images from the exhibit.
