Some months ago, Blockbuster was interested in buying Circuit City, but nothing happened. The video rental store is still looking for ways to survive against the competition like NetFlix online and RedBox at Wal-Mart stores. Now, Best Buy is about to about to acquire Napster for $121 million. The electronic store is the favorite one for many people. Napster used to be known as the main peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing network for lots of people that then became an online store.

A few days ago, Best Buy became the first non-Apple, non-AT&T store to offer iPhones. Now, the store will be part of the online music shopping competition. This is great news for people who go to Best Buy either at the store or online. Lots of people visit the store to check out what’s new when it comes to computer software and hardware, games, anime, music, TVs and other electronic devices. If people just want to stay at home and want to buy music, they will soon be able to get them from Best Buy online. Wal-Mart already sells MP3 music files online, but it has not been as successful as the iTunes Store has. Also, the current US economy has not stopped people from buying electronic products, especially iPhones and video games.

Napster will have a new owner soon. Now, I would like to know if Apple already knew about Best Buy and Napster. I’m not sure if Best Buy will have an iPhone application to make music shopping easier for its Napster customers in the near future, but also no one was expecting the electronic store to become the first third-party company to sell iPhones. Could this just be the beginning of the electronic store in trying to offer more than just music online? Napster CEO Chris Gorog said: “We are looking forward to combining our digital media capabilities with Best Buy’s resources and global network to extend our digital content platforms.”

Napster era conocida como la red punto a punto principal de archivos compartidos para varia gente que luego se convirtió en una tienda en línea.

Hace unos pocos días, Best Buy se convirtió en la primera tienda no Apple ni AT&T que ofrece iPhones. Ahora, la tienda sera parte de la competición de la compra de música por Internet. Esto es una gran noticia para la gente que va a Best Buy ya sea a la tienda o en línea. Mucha gente visita la tienda para ver que hay de nuevo cuando se trata de software y hardware de computadoras, juegos, anime, música televisores y otros dispositivos electrónicos. Napster tendrá un nuevo dueño. Ahora, me gustaría saber si Apple ya sabía de Best Buy y Napster. No estoy seguro si Best Buy tendrá una aplicación iPhone que permita la compra sencilla de música para sus clientes de Napster en el futuro cercano, pero también nadie esperaba que la tienda electrónica se convirtiese en la primera compañía de terceros en vender iPhones. ¿Podría ser esto sólo el comienzo de la tienda electrónica en tratar de ofrecer más que solamente música por Internet? Chris Gorog, el jefe ejecutivo de Napster dijo: “Esperamos combinar nuestras capacidades de medios digitales con los recursos y la red global de Best Buy para ampliar nuestras plataformas del contenido digital”.
