En la Conferencia de Juegos de Leipzig, Sony anunció la disponibilidad del paquete edición limitada PlayStation 3 Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune que estrenará por primera un disco duro de 160GB. Con el juego y disco duro mencionado, este paquete vendrá con un vale de PlayStation Network para el juego Pain, y un controlador inalámbrico DualShock 3.
El presidente y jefe ejecutivo de Sony Computer Entertainment America, Jack Tretton, hizo la siguiente declaración: “A medida que la PlayStation Network (Red PlayStation) continúe a evolucionar con nuestro servicio de entrega de video recientemente lanzado y mas juegos exclusivos, los dueños del PS3 piden más capacidad de almacenamiento. Los consumidores también utlizan el PS3 como un centro de entretenimiento para sus medios digitales, colocando contenido tal como su colección entera de música en el disco duro. El sistema PlayStation 3 de 160GB se dirige a esta creciente demanda consumidora en un paquete convincente que entregue un valor significativo”.
Otro aparato demostrado en Leipzig fue el Teclado Inalámbrico de Sony para el PlayStation 3. Este dispositivo hará su estreno durante la época de festividades y permitirá a los jugadores a que manden mensajes fácilmente y hagan búsquedas en Internet sin el uso de la tecla en pantalla. Estará disponible a finales de noviembre en los Estados Unidos y a finales de año en Europa, Japón y el resto de Asia.
Para los jugadores interesados en sistemas portátiles, una nueva versión del PlayStation Portable (modelo PSP-3000) estará a la venta en octubre de este año. Este modelo vendrá con un visor (pantalla) de cristal líquido (LCD, en inglés) avanzado que mejorará la calidad de las imágenes, un micrófono incorporado para uso en juegos y servicios de comunicaciones como el de Skype, y la nueva capacidad de conectar el PSP a televisores de escaneo no progresivos con el uso de un cable vendido por separado.

Another gadget shown at Leipzig was the Sony PlayStation 3 Wireless Keypad. This device will make its debut during the holiday season and it will allow gamers to send messages easily and make searches online without the use of the on-screen keyboard. It will be available in the US in late November, and on Europe, Japan and the rest of Asia by the end of the year.
For gamers interested in portable systems, a new version of the PlayStation Portable (PSP-3000 model) will be on sale this October. This model will come with an advanced LCD display that will enhance the image quality, a built-in microphone for use with games and communication services like Skype’s, and the new ability to connect the PSP a non-progressive TVs with the use of a cable sold separately.
