With one of its most well-known franchises, Capcom keeps surprising people. The recent announcements of Hello Kitty x Street Fighter (wow!), and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 (12 more fighters and 8 new stages!), just weren’t enough.
During the EVO 2011 fighting tournament, series producer of Street Fighter IV games Yoshinori Ono, announced Capcom is working on an update for Arcade Edition to be called Ver. 2012.
While no specific information has been revealed, it seems to make some people believe it will be a downloadable content, but it will not. Ver 2012 will be a patch with the goal of balancing characters. Yun, one of the latest SSFIV characters in Arcade Edition, is too powerful. Apparently, the update will be free of charge, and it will make its first appearance in main Japanese cities.
