Indie Fame Minecraft Has Sold Over 500 000 Copies World Wide!

Stockholm, Sweden – October 29th – The indie game company Mojang AB, the creators of Minecraft, which is still in the Alpha phase of development, has recently reached the 500 000 mark of sold copies. With almost 1.6 million registered users, this is a huge landmark not only for Mojang AB but also for indie games. With the success of Minecraft, Mojang AB will reinvest in Minecraft and also make sure to deliver new great games.

“We have had a lot to do lately with setting up an office and making sure we work with the right people. We believe that we have found really great development teams that will help us make Minecraft even better” says business manager Daniel Kaplan.

Minecraft will also see a special Halloween update this weekend which will add new features such as the currently named underworld “The Slip”, where the player will be able to teleport long distances in the real world.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is set to frighten Wii owners in North America on November 17 ^th, and Halloween weekend marks the launch of the final section on the official website.

An interactive experience which allows players to shoot zombies on the site, the official website sends players on a journey through each environment fans can expect out of the new thrilling arcade shooter. With the Resident Evil 2 and Code Veroncia sections already revealed, the final phase takes players to the brand new area in the Resident Evil franchise, South America.

In the new South America stage, play as Leon S. Kennedy and Jack Krauser, as they search for the mysterious leader of the drug cartel known as the Sacred Snakes, Javier Hidalgo. (NASDAQ:ERTS) studio, today announced that the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Warhammer(R) Online: Age of Reckoning(R) (WAR),will host a special live event, Daemon Moon Rising, for a limited time during the 2009 Halloween season. Daemon Moon Rising, will run in-game from October 23^rd through November 2^nd, and will feature the Daemon Mask event quest, a new Daemonball Rally Public Quest, a special Realm vs. Realm(TM) scenario, and treats both fair and foul.

In Daemon Moon Rising, a fiendish sub-cult of Chaos artificers have bound savage daemons into innocuous carnival masks and smuggled them into the Empire. The Daemon Mask event quest will task players with collecting these possessed masks and defeating the daemons bound within. As part of a Halloween special at WWE, a costume contest took place. The 10+ WWE Divas dressed in a variety of costumes such as Princess Leia, Banana Woman, Marilyn Monroe, among others. There can be only one Diva nominated as the champion. Mickie James, the one dressed as Lara Croft, won the WWE Diva Halloween Costume Contest.

Red Cross Blood Center Donors Will Receive Dracula PC Game on Halloween

Software Publisher Donating Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon

OAKLAND, Calif. – October 27, 2008 – The American Red Cross is partnering with Encore, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation, to hold a “Dracula Blood Drive” to celebrate the release of the first computer game in Encore’s Mystery Adventure Game line, Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon. The Dracula Blood Drive will take place on Friday, October 31, at five blood centers throughout the Bay Area. Each presenting blood donor will receive a copy of Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon for the PC.*

“Many donors have jokingly called our phlebotomists vampires so we decided to use the theme on Halloween,” said Sara O’Brien, Communications Manager of the American Red Cross Northern California Blood Services Region. “We love having this opportunity to provide a fun gift to help encourage potential donors to let us collect their blood so they can tell any vampires they already gave to the Red Cross.”
