Galaga Legions (Xbox Live)

Galaga Legions

Galaga Legions

En español | In English

If you are over 30, then you shall remember the original version of one of one classic game. Galaga. Created by Namco in the early 80s, Galaga (ギャラガ) is a shoot’em up game. With a spaceship and two extra lives at the beginning, the player must destroy all the enemy space ships. Galaga is easy at the beginning and its difficulty increases as each stage is completed. All the stages are tough, and after finishing some of them, the players enter into challenging stages in order to accumulate extra points. More points, more extra lives. The player’s spaceship can only be moved to both sides. It can also be captured and then freed (if the enemy ship gets destroyed), which gives the ability to control both ships at the same time. During the 80s, the games were lots of fun, but this genre of games did not get to evolve during the arrival of 3D games. However, Namco Bandai is about to offer us a modern version that maintains its roots along with things we were not expecting before.

Legions starts somewhat slow when compared to the original game, but soon, it stops being like that. When maneuvering the spaceship (that can be moved all around the screen, unlike in the original), one can notice that it is being accompanied by two satellite guns, one in each side. The right analog allows the player to place such small guns anywhere in the screen. The spaceships can also appear anywhere. Before the start of the game, the player has the option of selecting if he or she wants to fire manually or automatically. This ability is used a lot when lots of legions or groups of enemy spaceships appear simultaneously. At that moment, the player shall know where to move his ship for it not to be destroyed. Each legion has a main enemy that, when defeated, causes the destruction of the rest of its group. A piece of advice, especially for beginner or casual gamers, is to observe the paths of the blue lines. These lines indicate the initial or complete trajectory the spaceships will follow. It is recommended to assign the satellite guns to a specific place in every attack in order to reduce the magnitude of the immense attacks of the enemy army.

Galaga Legions fills the player with all emotions of the amazing kind since the start, but first. The graphics and audio are excellent. The sound of the explosions and other sound effects, the number of enemies that can show up at once to defeat your spaceship, the many techniques required to survive each level and its 2D-view-with-3D-background-feel the makes the game a worthwhile one.

There are more things to see in the game. It is definitively is one of the most enjoyable ones for everyone, doesn’t matter if you have played the first one or not. Galaga is simple to play and it’s very entertaining. Get it.Hi Ting.

Finally I’m doing a lot better… because I get to hear from you.
Tomorrow, already today in Taiwan, will be (my grand-nephew) John Nathan’s first birthday.

Most of my Florida family and my niece’s friends will be here in Orlando, but we will celebrated on Saturday at noon.

I’m glad you were on vacation, but because I did not know where you were,

I was thinking lots of things about you:

1. Has Wan-Ting gotten married with someone on August 8th, 2008?

That’s what I heard lots of people (16,000+) did that day.
2. Has Wan-Ting gotten a really great job in Taipei or Taichung already? Let’s hope so.
3. Did Wan-Ting go to Beijing to see the Olympics? That would have been cool.

4. Did something hit her head and Wan-Ting forgot who Alberto is? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

5. I forgot what else I was thinking about…

I have had interviews at some schools, and I will try (once again) to talk to the editor (usually after 5pm).

I suppose you have to find a job first, so that you can move to an apartment that is near your work place, right?

What will you do exactly?

Also, during  your absence:

1. I was feeling like I was getting deaf (because I have not heard from you).

2. I was feeling like I was getting blind (‘cauz I had not seen you in a while).

3. I did not feel like talking much to anybody.

But anyway, I now know you were on vacation with your family, had some interviews, and you’re still single, right?
