According to a post on social media and its web site, Megacon Orlando 2020 has been postponed and will take place from June 4-7.
After the cancellation of many events across the country and the world, fans on social media had doubts about MegaCon for next month.
Even as late as March 12, the organizers were still posting what actors and actresses were going to make their appearances at the con. However, the March 13 post might have been the start for the postponement. Orange County had already banned public events for more than 250 people. Another post came three days later announcing they were going to have another update on the 23rd (today).
On today’s post, the team at Megacon Orlando says that it “has been able to move MEGACON Orlando to June 4-7, 2020” after following the recommendations made by the CDC and the Florida Department of Health due to the coronavirus.
Fans who purchased their tickets would need to print their updates ones. For those who decide on cancelling tickets, they’ll have until May 21 at 10am to get a refund by logging into GrowTix.
For exhibitors and artists, their booths have been transferred for the new dates. They do have to either confirm their booth for the new date this year or transfer it for next year at this year’s rate. There’s also the option for a refund.
“Also, let’s encourage everyone to be kind as we post and connect online. This is a time for us to stick together as a community and support each other like we already do so well.”
