Konami shuts down fan-made Castlevania remake

After the announcement and revelation of a modern-looking and playable Castlevania demo, Konami shuts down a a fan-made Castlevania remake by sending a cease and desist order to the lone developer who has worked on it for more than a year.

According to Dejawolfs, the creator of the remake, he received a cease and desist letter from Konami. Though the demo and videos can remain online, he won’t be able to make any more updates for it.

There is a little bit of hope still. Dejawolfs said: “I talked with Jay from Konami UK, and he’ll do everything in his power, and talk with Konami Japan to see if it’s somehow possible to get a license so i can continue the project, but don’t get your hopes up.”
