“PlayStation®Vita” Expands Its Entertainment Experience by Introducing Various Applications for Social Networking Services and Communications

TOKYO, Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE) today announced that it will introduce dedicated applications for Facebook, foursquare, Skype™ and Twitter*1 to PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) which will launch in Japan by the end of 2011, followed by the U.S. and Europe early next year*2.
PS Vita users will not only be able to enjoy the immersive rich gaming content but through the addition of these social networking services and communications widely used around the globe will also have an easy access and greater opportunity to enjoy communicating with friends by simply selecting the dedicated application. PS Vita, as the next generation portable entertainment system, will deliver an unrivaled entertainment experience, through close collaboration with various social networking services and communications.
The applications will be downloadable to PS Vita directly from PlayStation®Store at no charge. Users will be able to activate the application just by selecting the icon which will appear on the PS Vita home screen and enjoy easy navigation using the touch screen. Also, PS Vita’s beautiful 5-inch organic light emitting diode (OLED) screen will allow users to enjoy photos and movies shared with their friends and acquaintances via Internet in visually striking graphics. Durante su conferencia de prensa en Alemania, Sony Computer Entertainment señaló antes de finalizar su presentación la reducción en el precio de su consola PlayStation 3. Tras presentar varios juegos para su próxima consola portátil (PlaySation Vita), Sony mencionó nuevos costos a nivel mundial.
A partir de ahora en América del Norte, la consola con disco duro de 160GB cuesta a $249 y en Europa a 249 euros Para las de 320GB, los precios son $299 y 299 euros. Los nuevos precios aún no se harán efectivos en Japón hasta el 18 de agosto.

Sony Computer Entertainment Sets New Price for PlayStation®3
TOKYO, Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) today announced that the PlayStation®3 (PS3®) computer entertainment system with 160GB hard disk drive (HDD), currently available at a recommended retail price (RRP) of 29,980 yen (including tax), $299 and euro 299, will be available at a very attractive new RRP of 24,980 yen (including tax) for Japan, $249 for North America and euro 249 for Europe/PAL territories. SCE will also reduce the price of the PS3® system with 320GB HDD, currently available at a RRP of 34,980 yen (including tax), $349 and euro 349, to RRP of 29,980 yen (including tax), $299 and euro 299. The new pricing will be immediately effective for North America and Europe/PAL territories, and starting August 18, 2011 for Japan.
