Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today announced the debut of its first official regional advertising campaign for the Latin America region to coincide with the company’s most exciting holiday seasons which include the debut of customized product offerings for the region and groundbreaking product releases such as PlayStation®Move and Gran Turismo® 5. November 9, 2010 – Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) and video game retail giant GameStop Corp. today unveiled their partnership to sell select downloadable content (DLC) offerings for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system in-store and online. The content, also available for download using a PlayStation®Network (PSN) account on PlayStation systems, can now be purchased at GameStop retail locations and will soon be available on www.GameStop.com.

The downloadable content, including full PSN games and add-ons, as well as PlayStation®Plus subscriptions, are currently available in select GameStop stores and will continue to be added to the PlayStation DLC section in more than 4,400 retail stores and www.GameStop.com throughout the rest of the month. With more than 1.25 billion pieces of content downloaded worldwide on PlayStation Network and more than 60 million registered PSN users, this newest initiative offers the robust PlayStation® community the option of purchasing digital content through GameStop, the world’s largest video game and entertainment software retailer.

Celebrities do “Call of Duty: Black Ops” TV Commercial: “There’s a Soldier in All of Us”

Kobe Bryant and Jimmy Kimmel play real life soldiers in Activision’s new commercial for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The sixty-second spot is the first of its kind in the gaming market because it features realistic war scenes and no actual gaming footage. Dubbed, “There is a Soldier in All of Us”, the spot will premiere Sunday during NFL football.

The stars are joined by actors who represent people from all walks of life playing out a realistic gun battle set to the Rolling Stones’ classic “Gimme Shelter”. Kimmel is seen struggling with a grenade launcher.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is rated M, for people 17 years old and over. All of the actors featured in the commercial are over 18 years old. It will not air in programming that targets people under the age of 17.

The Call of Duty Endowment is a non-profit, public benefit corporation founded by Activision Blizzard that helps soldiers with the transition to civilian life and help them establish jobs and careers.
