Besides the robots we have seen in games and anime (like Gundam), there are small robots at people’s homes in Japan doing cool things. Robots are popular there. Right now, one is stealing the show.
Her name is Hina and she’s a humanoid robot. Here in the US, we barely see them (you’re lucky if you see one). Yet Hina has called the attention of over 100,000 people around Japan and the rest of the world. Why? Because she grinds coffee beans and brews coffee. The video is not a “stop-motion” one (like the ones in clay animation; remember MTV’s Celebrity Deathmatch?), though it consists on different segments. Such robots can be programmed to do many complex activities. Hina makes all of its movements by herself (no cables attached). Now whether she’s a robot monkey or a ninja robot is up to you.
If you are interested in making your own small robot, you should read the following blog (in Japanese): clockwork [Hina\ [http://clockwork.shikisokuzekuu.net/HINA.html].

The consumers are not the only ones asking for a PlayStation 3 price cut. Developers also want the price to go down to sell more copies. It could help the PS3 jump to the number 2 position in the US and increase the gaming presence of its console, but Sony Computer Entertainment has kept the current price for a while already. One of the most outspoken persons about this subject is none other than Activision Blizzard President and CEO Bobby Kotick. possibly
Kotick says: “They have to cut the price, because if they don’t, the attach rates [the number of games every player buys for his/her console] are likely to slow. If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony.” PS3 development costs are high. The lack of PlayStation 3 consoles is not helping game companies sell as many games as they really want. The best solution is to simply reduce the price of the PS3 so more people can buy consoles and games.
It’s not the first time Kotick has made a statement about the price of the PS3, but it may be his first about stopping its support for the mentioned console. Imagine Guitar Hero or Call of Duty games released only on the 360 or Wii.
Could this statement from Kotick scare Sony? Could it force the gaming giant to lower the price of its PS3 either this year or the next one?

Since the merge of Tecmo and Koei, we’ve seen a title with work from both companies. The game Dynasty Warriors: Gundam was their most recent collaboration. However, according to a translation of a Japanese article, the now-merged parent company of Dynasty Warriors and Dead or Alive really want to make one or more crossover games. Page 521 of The Nikkei Corporate Quarterly says the following about Tecmo Koei: “New Games: Will release game(s) that combine Tecmo and Koei titles. The aim is to reach fans of both.” What game(s) do you expect from Tecmo Koei?
