EA Sports: PC FIFA sans Ignite?!

[EN]: After yesterday’s announcements about next-generation sports games to make use of the Ignite engine, one platform was not mentioned: the PC one. However, a new post published earlier today does confirm that the PC version of EA Sports FIFA will not feature the Ignite engine.

Rob Hodson, Community Manager at EA SPORTS FIFA Series, shared the follwing message on Twitter:

The new sports engine will offer human-like intelligence and better animation. Too bad such new features and improvements won’t be seen in the PC version of EA Sports FIFA.

Microsoft: “Xbox One”

[EN]: Microsoft’s upcoming console is no longer a secret. It is not Xbox Infinity or Xbox 8 as some people had rumored. There can be one official name for the console, and it is Xbox One.

The specs are very similar to the one seen in the PS4. The Xbox One will come with: an 8-core CPU, 8 GB system memory, a 500 GB HDD, Blu-Ray drive, HDMI In/Out, USB 3.0, and more. Except of course for the lack of backward compatibility –not being able to play Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One–, all this sounds great. The upcoming console has lots of support by companies such as EA. Electronic Arts will be bringing Battlefield 4 to the Xbox One (and PS4). The new EA Sports Ignite engine will also make its debut later this year on the PS4 and Xbox One. Activision is bringing Call of Duty to the PS4 and Xbox One as well.

I’d love to play Xbox One games during E3. Hopefully, you could see us both playing with the Xbox One there next month.

[EN]: It seems like Sony wants gamers to put their minds away from the competition. Before Microsoft’s announcement of the Next Xbox, Sony reveals a video of its PS4 console. Yeah, it’s the one thing people wanted to see when Sony announced it in February, but it decided to show only its controller and games. So, how does the PS4 looks like to you? We can only see bits and pieces  of it, though someone has come up with a cool fan-made model.

After tomorrow’s #XboxReveal, how long will it take Sony to share with gamers a new video of what the console will look like? I don’t want to wait until E3 to see the PS4, but, tomorrow’s #XboxReveal could give the PS4 a few surprises.

[ES]: Parece que Sony quiere que los jugadores pongan sus mentes lejos de la competencia. Antes del anuncio del próxim Xbox de Microsoft, Sony revela un video de su consola PS4. Namco Bandai: “Pac-man Dash” & “Pac-Man Monsters” ?!

[EN]: Now that we know the upcoming animated series (Pac-Man And The Ghostly Adventures / Disney XD – Fall 2013 Debut) and its videogame versions (3D versions for PS3/X360/WiiU & 2D side-scrolling version for 3DS – Fall 2013) are on their way, Namco Bandai has also filed two new trademarks: Pac-Man Dash and Pac-Man Monsters.

According to Siliconera.com, the two new trademarks were registered on the 16th, but no announcement has been made about these two new titles… yet. What can we expect of these new games?

[ES]: Ahora que sabemos que la próxima serie animada (Pac-Man y Las Aventuras Fantasmales / Disney XD – debut en otoño 2013) y sus versiones de videojuegos (versión 3D para PS3/X360/WiiU y versión 2D de desplazamiento lateral para el 3DS – otoño 2013) están en camino, Namco Bandai también ha presentado dos nuevas marcas comerciales registradas: Pac-Man Dash and Pac-Man Monsters.

Ouya @ E3 2013: In a parking lot outside LACC?! | ¡¿Es un estacdionamiento afuera del LACC?!

[EN]: E3 is a trade event. People who work for the gaming industry, the press, and celebrities are the ones who attend. It is closed to the public. The big companies usually get their own spot inside the convention center, but in the case of Ouya, a startup company and maker of an Android game console that started thanks to Kickstarter, this won’t be the case.

Ouya will be at the parking lot exactly accross from LACC’s South Hall. Why? It could be a great strategy, especially for a small company.

If you are going to be in LA during the week of E3, even if you are not attending the expo, you may want to to stop by the South Hall of LACC from June 11 to June 13 to give the Ouya a try. Anyone (yes, anyone) will be able to try it.

[ES]: E3 es un evento comercial. Las personas que trabajan para la industria de juegos, la prensa, y las celebridades son los que asisten. Está cerrado al público. Las grandes empresas suelen tener su propio lugar en el interior del centro de convenciones, pero en el caso de Ouya, una empresa de nueva creación y fabricante de la consola de juegos Android que se inició gracias a Kickstarter, éste no será el caso.

Ouya estará en el estacionamiento exactamente al otro lado del Salón Sur del Centro de Conveciones de Los Ángeles. ¿Por qué? Podría ser una gran estrategia, especialmente para una pequeña empresa.

[ES]: Tras el Nintendo Direct temprano el día de hoy, la mayor parte de la charla entre los jugadores ha sido de una alianza entre Nintendo y Sega. No sólo una serie de juegos de Game Gear va a venir al Nintendo 3DS (incluyendo títulos tales como Columns, Crystal Warriors, Sonic Blast), Sega está trabajando en un título exclusivo conocido como Sonic: Mundo Perdido, solo para el Wii U. No hay mucho que se muestra del juego, pero de previas alianzas que hemos visto de Nintendo y otras compañías, Nintendo ha tenido éxito. Resident Evil Revelations es un gran ejemplo de esa alianza, y Revelations también pasa a ser un título que viene al Wii U.

  • Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games: el juego ofrece una variedad de eventos de los Juegos Olímpicos de Invierno entre los que se incluyen curling, esquí, patinaje artístico por parejas y el recientemente añadido snowboard alpino – el cual hará su debut Olímpico en Sochi, Rusia. Los diferentes eventos pueden usar el control Wii Remote Plus, el Wii U GamePad o ambos. [EN]: After Nintendo Direct earlier today, most of the talk among players has been about an alliance between Nintendo and Sega. Not only a series of Game Gear games will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS (including titles such as Columns, Crystal Warriors, Sonic Blast), Sega is working on an an exclusive title called Sonic: Lost World, only on the Wii U. Not much was shown about the game, but from previous alliances we’ve seen of Nintendo and other companies, Nintendo has seen success. Resident Evil Revelations is a great example of that alliance, and Revelations also happens to be a title that is coming to the Wii U.

This is just the beginning of titles to come to the Wii U. What else can we expect next month at E3?

The following is a list of games by Nintendo about the titles  mentioned in today’s Nintendo Direct.

Wii U News

  • Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games: The game includes a variety of events from the Winter Games, including curling, skiing, figure skating pairs and snowboard slopestyle – which will make its Olympic debut in Sochi, Russia. Different events might use the Wii Remote Plus controller, Wii U GamePad controller or both. In addition to realistic events, the game also includes those set in the worlds of Sonic and Mario that let players perform moves not possible in real life. Launch details and timing will be announced at a later date.

  • Experience Games from Nintendo’s E3 Booth at Best Buy: Exclusively at participating Best Buy locations in the United States and Canada, consumers will be able to play some of the unreleased Wii U games featured at E3 while the event is occurring in Los Angeles. Details about locations and which games will be featured will be revealed in the coming weeks.

  • New Super Luigi U: The Year of Luigi-themed downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U offers players 82 updated courses. But it also includes a new playable character in multiplayer mode: Nabbit, who steals items from Toad Houses. Nabbit can’t power up, but also won’t take damage when he touches enemies. New Super Luigi U will be released as downloadable content for New Super Mario Bros. U in the Nintendo eShop on June 20 for $19.99. But in honor of the Year of Luigi, Nintendo is also offering a standalone packaged version of New Super Luigi U that doesn’t require New Super Mario Bros. U on Aug. 25 at a suggested retail price of $29.99.

  • The Wonderful 101: The mass-action adventure from Platinum Games launches Sept. 15. Additional details will be announced after E3.

  • Pikmin 3: New playable characters Alph, Brittany and Charlie recruit the Pikmin creatures to help them gather fruit so that they can return with the seeds to save their home, Planet Koppai. Players can divide activities among the different characters, and explore separate areas in the same map with different groups of Pikmin. Using the GamePad (known as the KopPad in the game), players can view the overall map and grasp what each character and Pikmin are up to. Players also can choose their preferred control option: GamePad in conjunction with the TV, Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk combo or GamePad only in off-TV mode. Players can also use the Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuk with the GamePad as a second-screen monitor. Pikmin 3 launches Aug. 4.

  • GAME & WARIO: The game launches in stores and in the Nintendo eShop June 23 at a suggested retail price of $39.99, and includes a number of games from WarioWare, Inc., that use the GamePad in different ways. Newly revealed games include: Island, which lets two to five people launch little creatures called Fronks onto islands in the sea to score points; Patchwork, a puzzle game that tests players’ pattern-recognition skills; and Kung-Fu, which challenges players to help Young Cricket navigate a course safely using the forward-looking view on the TV and the top-down view on the GamePad. A new Iwata Asks feature offers more details about the game at http://iwataasks.nintendo.com.

  • Resident Evil Revelations: Capcom’s horror-survival game is launching in stores and in the Nintendo eShop on May 21. The game originally released for Nintendo 3DS, and the Wii U version offers players updated HD graphics, GamePad controls and new game content. Players can use the GamePad to view the map and change items using the touch screen without pausing their progress. Or they can play the full game on the GamePad in off-TV mode, or play with the Wii U Pro Controller. The game is Miiverse-compatible, and a demo version is currently available in the Nintendo eShop.

Additionally, a new Animal Crossing panel for Puzzle Swap is now available for StreetPass Mii Plaza, and fans also might find a special Animal Crossing-themed message on Swapnote.

  • Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D: This game launches in stores and in the Nintendo eShop on May 24 and includes all the fun of the original Wii game, now optimized for portable play. It also includes eight new unlockable levels that are each based on one of the eight worlds from the original game. These levels will challenge players with new elements like platforms that force them to move at a faster pace, large drops of tar falling from the ceiling and giant rotating stone gears that can alter the level itself.

  • A Legendary Sale: The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons arrive on the Virtual Console service for Nintendo 3DS on May 30. Because playing the games together unlocks so much additional content, Nintendo is offering them for just $4.99 each for the first three weeks after launch. After this promotion expires, the games will be available for $5.99 each.

  • Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move: The game, which launched May 9 exclusively in the Nintendo eShop, challenges players to place tiles on the bottom screen to guide the Minis to their goal on the top screen. The game includes more than 180 stages, but also dramatically extends the fun of the game by letting players create their own stages and share them with others. Players can opt to try a random user-created level or one created by their friends. They can also select from the most popular levels overall or search the top levels of the week.
